Radon in Water Testing and Treatment in Santa Isabel, PR

Radon in Water Testing and Treatment in Santa Isabel, PR

Radon is a radioactive gas that dissolves into groundwater from granite and other bedrock. When you shower or run the dishwasher, it comes out of the water and into the air in your home. Most of the risk is breathing it, not drinking it. Santa Isabel, PR Well Water Treatment handles radon in water testing and treatment for private wells in Santa Isabel, PR.

Radon in water is reported in picocuries per liter (pCi/L). There is no enforceable federal limit for private wells, and state guidance varies widely, so we give you the number and the local guidance where you live.

Testing needs care. Radon escapes quickly, so the sample has to be drawn with no air bubbles and sent to the lab quickly.

Treatment options:

• Aeration systems that bubble air through the water and vent radon outside above the roof
• Granular activated carbon for lower levels, with shielding considerations

We also suggest an air radon test, since soil gas is often a bigger source than water.
